Profile
Bio
I am a published non-fiction author, art historian, and educator with over 15 years of experience teaching in universities, speaking at events, and designing and delivering transformative workshops.
I founded The Creative Shift to bring the power of art and creative storytelling into the workplace. Through reflective, creative workshops, I help stressed and overwhelmed teams prevent burnout, build resilience, and unlock their creativity through reflective, art-led creative workshops.
Whether working with individuals, businesses, or community groups, my focus is on combining creativity with wellbeing by creating space to pause, reflect, and reimagine how we approach work and life

Qualifications & Accreditations
I hold a PhD in Art History from the University of Leeds and currently teach at The Open University. Alongside my academic expertise, I run online and in-person workshops in journaling, creative writing, and visual analysis, giving me a unique ability to design sessions that are reflective, research-led, and highly accessible to any team.
With over 15 years of experience as a writer, editor, and educator, I specialise in making complex material clear, engaging, and accessible, whether through long-form reports, funding proposals, research syntheses, or narrative non-fiction.
I am the author of Milk: An Intimate History of Breastfeeding (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 2023) and have written widely on art, culture, and motherhood for publications including The Observer, Hyperallergic, and Wellcome. My work consistently blends storytelling with research, making abstract or complex ideas resonate with a wide audience.
